Words from committee member, Mat Keane:
Very very sad news about our Queen. It’s time to celebrate her life and achievements but with one foot firmly in the future.
Without the Royal Family we will be reduced to an insignificant minor power without reach. A dwindling nation living from historic echoes of the past.
The Royal Family is core to our nation. It sets us apart and elevates us. Every nation that joins the British Commonwealth does so because of the Queen. The Middle East, Far East, Americas and Europe, along with many parts of the world respects our culture and our discerning appreciation for our pomp and circumstance, all delivered with humility and of course the British stiff upper lip.
We stand alone as an island with fickle friends and playground bullies.
We can not let the uneducated, uncaring and those self important adoration seekers tear down our Monarchy without empathy for others or any idea of consequence.
This United Kingdom’s and our Union Flag carries its share of voice because:
1. The Royal Family
The Queen is loved and respected around the world. All seek a connection with a constitution whose head stands and acts on our behalf beyond reproach.
2. Our History
The centre of which has been built by a millennia of Royal Households and the strong and brave people of the United Kingdom who have fought for their Kings and Queens of our proud nation.
3. Our Unrivalled Inventiveness
A country whose ideas and inventions, that over the last few centuries, have touched every corner of the planet and helped create the modern world we live in today.
4. The City
A financial trading powerhouse, globally respected as a leading place to do business, invest and trade.
5. Education
Where the finest education can be gained and enjoyed by students from countries around the world. Where some of the oldest educational institutions in the world exist, where the most innovative and modern colleges and universities contribute significantly to the progress and the betterment of mankind.
6. Music, Art and Culture
Wherever you go across the world, you will never be far from a British song. Our art, theatre, stories, music and films have become a fantastical library for all the world to enjoy.
A Great Nation Indeed
But please, please let us never forget, what makes us great. It is ourselves, our families and our Queen.
No matter our background our faith or our ethnicity – we are all British. We must stand together, united and firm, this is our nation but our Royal Family and our Queen belongs to the world.
God bless the Queen!
God save the King.
