Charles III, Britain’s first new monarch in 70 years, was crowned at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday 6th May 2023 – a royal occasion unseen since the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, his mother, in 1953.
“I come not to be served, but to serve” Charles said in his first remarks of the ceremony, setting the theme for the intimate yet grand proceedings. Queen Camilla was crowned alongside him ahead of a huge parade back to Buckingham Palace.
What a momentous day to have beared witness to, and a special mention to all Armed Forces and personnel who made it the spectacular celebration it deserved to be.
Long live the King. 🇬🇧
