To commemorate this important time we are joining in with the rest of the nation by organising a fitting VE Day 75th Anniversary party on the early Bank Holiday of Friday 8th May 2020 from 12:30pm.
This free-to-attend event will be an opportunity for us all to remember the enormous sacrifices that were made at home and abroad and to joyously celebrate as people did 75 years ago, the arrival of peace in Europe.
Everyone is welcome as we hope to put on a memorable event complete with the support of the TS Alacrity Marching Band and wider village community. In addition to a superb performance from TS Alacrity, guests can enjoy an afternoon tea throughout the day while watching poignant wartime and VE Day clips and listening to the sounds of the 1940’s musical greats. The bar will be open for drinks and a portfolio of historic photographs and memorabilia will be available for guests to look through and reminisce.
But the above isn’t it all and we’re still building upon this event to really make it one to remember… so avoid the disappointment and save the date in your diaries now!
